Coach Robert P. Privitera

Coach Robert P. Privitera Class of 1965 While in high school, he played on the 1962 undefeated football championship team, the 1963 and 1965 LCAA Championship Baseball teams, and the 1965 Section Five Championship Baseball team. He was the recipient of the 1965 Athletic Achievement award. He returned to his alma mater, Mount Morris Central after graduation from Buffalo State in 1969. He spent 34 years of service at the school as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. He coached 3 sports during his career – soccer, basketball, and baseball. In basketball, he led Mount Morris to 3 LCAA Championships. He was the winner of the 1995 New York State Coaches’ Association Special Honors Award. He was named LCAA Coach of the year twice in 1988 and 1990. He was also named Section Five Coach of the year 3 times – in 1990, 1994, and 2001. All told, he coached Mount Morris to over 300 wins in basketball. Many people who have graduated from here claim that this man was easily their favorite teacher they ever had. His hard work, outstanding people skills, ability to use humor, and his love of Mount Morris Athletics is what led him here today. Along with his wife Joanne, he continues to reside in Mount Morris where they raised three children.
