The MMPTSA’s partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program benefits the Mount Morris community by allowing all MMCSD residents to register their child(ren) under the age of five to receive a free book in the mail every month. The vision behind the Imagination Library Program is to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families. The program gives each child a specially selected book each month, by mailing high-quality, age-appropriate books directly to their home. “It is imperative to read to children each day and that is why this program is so important for our Mount Morris families,” said Mrs. Dean, Mount Morris Elementary Principal. “By being a part of this program new books are delivered to families and they can begin reading to their children and teaching them to love reading!” The welcome book sent to registered children is “The Little Engine That Could” written by Watty Piper and illustrated by George and Doris Hauman. Other age-appropriate monthly books sent directly to registered children’s homes include “Daniel Finds a Poem,” “Lion Lessons,” “Max and the Tag-Along Moon,” “Sleep Train,” “Good Morning, Farm Friends,” and “Sassy: Bedtime for Baby.” The Imagination Library Program culminates with the graduation book, “Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come.” To enroll in the Imagination Library email the information requested on the enrollment form to freebooks@mtmorriscsd.org or submit a completed enrollment form to the visitor entrance secretary. MMPTSA Facebook post: After many months work, we ask you to go to the school's website (http://www.mtmorriscsd.org/new-tutorials) and take a look at the videos we produced this year! This effort was for YOU! If you a child new to Kindergarten or Middle School, we have advice for you. If you are wondering about all the paths to graduation for your high schooler, there are videos for you (in English & Spanish). If you want to know how or why to use SchoolTool, there is a tutorial for that. We aren't professionals, and we know the videos aren't perfect. But, we tried very hard to look at different transitions in the school and help where we could. Let us know what you think! What other videos would be helpful?
Also, please consider taking this final survey to help us close our National School of Excellence program. This is our final step before we file our report with the National PTA. We hope the videos help you understand some of the different transitions within the school and we hope the survey reflects that. The survey is going home in school folders, but feel free to take it here.
