Mount Morris - Jody Steen

From the Class of 1995, Jody Steen’s accolades came in the sports of soccer and track & field. In soccer, she was an outstanding player who played on our varsity team for four seasons and was a Livingston County Division 2 All-Star for three consecutive years from 1992-1994. She was also a member of our indoor track & field team where she set 6 school records. Individually she set the record in the 300 meter run and in the long jump. She is also a member of four relay teams that hold school records. She capped off her indoor career by qualifying and competing in the New York State championship in the 300 meter run in 1991. In outdoor track & field, this inductee was a leading member of the varsity team for 6 years, as she made the varsity team when only in 7th grade. In this sport, she also made her way to the New York State championship twice in both 1992 in the 400 meter run and in two events in 1995 in the 400 meter hurdles and the triple jump. Over 20 years later, her performances are still part of our top performances ever, as she still holds the school record in four events. These include the 400 meter run with a time of 1:01.60 set in 1992, the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.60 set in 1993, and the triple jump at 34’ 1.5” set in 1993. She is also a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay team that holds the school record set in 1993 with a time of 4:19.30. In the points department, she currently holds four of the top ten spots on the all-time season best point total list in girls track. Her best score of 327 in 1994 is currently 4th best in school history. She had 305 points in 1995 which is 6th all-time, 304 points in 1993 which is 7th all-time, and 298 points in 1991 which is 9th all-time.
