Use of School Building or Facilities

In accordance with Education Law and the policy of the Board of Education, the administration may permit the use of school facilities and grounds and other property of the District when not in use for school purposes for any of the following purposes:

  • For holding educational, civic, social, and recreational meetings and entertainment for the welfare of the community. Such meetings, entertainment, and uses shall be non-exclusive and shall be open to the general public.
  • For meetings, entertainment, and occasions where admission fees are charged, when the proceeds are to be expended for an educational or charitable purpose. Such use shall not be permitted if such use, entertainment, and occasions are exclusive and the said proceeds are to be applied for the benefit of a society, association, or organization of a religious denomination or of a fraternal, secret, or exclusive society or organization, other than organizations of veterans of the military, naval, or marine service of the U.S. and organization of volunteer firemen.
  • For holding primaries and elections and for the registration of voters.
