Mount Morris - Princess Fatima Finn

Princess Fatima Finn is a graduate from the Class of 2001.  She was an extremely strong 3-sport athlete in soccer, basketball, and track & field and was an LCAA All-star in all 3 sports.  On the soccer field, she was one of the top goalies in the county.  Likely the biggest highlight of her soccer career was on October 9, 2000 when she earned a 1-0 shutout over York which was a team our girls soccer team had not been able to defeat in many years.  On the basketball court, she was a very tough power forward who helped lead our 1998-99 team to 12 wins which was a school record at that time and is currently the 2nd most wins our girls basketball team ever had in a season.  In 2001, she scored 25 points in one game which tied our school record at that time.  In the spring in track & field, Princess’ talents really shined.  Her talent and hard work helped lead our track & field team to win 3 LCAA titles and 4 Section V titles.  Individually, she was the Section V Class D champion as part of 4x100m relay team in 1999, the Section V Class D triple jump champion in 2000, and the Section V Class D discuss champion in 1999 and again in 2001.  To this day, she still holds our all-time school records in the shotput, discus, and pentathlon and is still 2nd all-time in the 4x100m relay, 5th all-time in the100m hurdles, 2nd all-time in the high jump, 2nd all-time in the triple jump, and 4th all-time in the long jump.  She was well-known for being a very tough, hard-working competitor who gave 100% effort every day.  This led her to be awarded both the Chichester Memorial Scholarship and the Babe Ruth Sportsmanship award in 2001.  After graduation, she played college soccer as a goalie for the GCC women’s soccer team.  After college she entered the US Army in 2002, where she ended up attaining the rank of E5 sergeant. She also was the Supply Noncommissioned Officer in Charge at Fort Bragg, received 2 Army Commendation medals, 3 Army Achievement medals, a National Defense Service medal, a Global War on Terrorism service medal, a Korea Defense Service medal, and several ribbons during her military career.  Also in the Army, she was a boxing champion who won numerous ribbons and medals including winning the All Army gold medal in 2006 in the 165 lb. weight class.
