Last week, 11th grade students participating in the Close Up program traveled to Washington, D.C. for their annual week-long educational experience. This prestigious national program offers students a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of government at the local, state, and national levels.

During the trip, students met with elected officials on Capitol Hill and participated in a Mock Congress, gaining hands-on experience in the legislative process. They also explored the rich history of the nation’s capital by visiting iconic monuments, Smithsonian Institution museums, and powerful memorials.

The Close Up program provides a meaningful educational experience that helps students deepen their understanding of the American political system while strengthening leadership skills and civic engagement.
