What a day for our Blue Devils at the Class C5 Sectional Championships!
Our athletes delivered outstanding performances, earning podium finishes, personal records, and sectional titles while proudly representing MMCSD.
Sectional Champions
• Addyson Barnhardt: Long Jump (14' 9.5"), High Jump (4' 10")
• Yasael Malave Perez: 800m (2:05.58)
• Robbie Lonsberry: Pentathlon Champion (2402 points)
Special Recognition
Addyson Barnhardt was named the Class C5 Most Outstanding Female Field Athlete after winning both the high jump and long jump while helping lead the girls team to a third-place finish.
Team Results
• Girls Team: 3rd Place Overall (61 points)
• Boys Team: 6th Place Overall (43.5 points)
The Blue Devils also recorded 12 personal best performances on the day, highlighted by strong efforts across the track and field events.
Among the many standout performances:
• Girls 4x100 Relay (Kenna Canry, Addyson Barnhardt, Jayla Mowday, Peyton Tidd) finished 2nd with a personal record time of 53.41.
• Girls 4x400 Relay (Kenna Canry, Addyson Barnhardt, Jayla Mowday, Peyton Tidd) placed 3rd.
• Yasael Malave Perez added a 2nd place finish in pole vault with a personal record height of 9'.
• Scott Lonsberry, Bella Menz, Rylee Lippens, Maya Kleisley, Adriana Mann, David Kelley, Yariel Diaz, and Logan Martin all earned top-six sectional finishes, with several setting new personal bests.
Coach Matthew James and Coach Amanda James shared:
"The coaching staff is extremely proud of how Mount Morris was represented today at the C5 sectional meet. Fifteen of our 17 athletes placed. Addyson Barnhardt led the girls, scoring 34 points while capturing two titles in the high jump and long jump and earning C5 Most Outstanding Female Field Athlete honors. Yasi Malave led the boys, scoring 22 points and capturing the 800m title. Robbie Lonsberry secured his sectional title, scoring over 1,100 more points than the second-place finisher. There were 12 personal best records for the Blue Devils today."
