Mount Morris Fire Department

We would like to give a big thank you to the Mount Morris Fire Department! Members of the Mount Morris Fire Department put on a fire safety assembly for students in Pre-k through 3rd grade. We watched video clips about preventing fires, how to stay safe in case of fire, escape routes, and calling 911. Students were then given the opportunity to tour fire trucks! Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire. In 1925, President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week a national observance, making it the longest-running public health observance in our country. You can learn how to make your fire safety plan by visiting the National Fire Protection Association website at https://www.nfpa.org/Public-Education.
