Congratulations to our Athletes of the Week, Matt Bacon (Varsity Track) and Tommy Schmieder (Modified Baseball)! Congratulations is also going out to our Sportsmanship Award recipient, Sarina Johnson (Varsity Track)! “This week, at our last home meet of the season against Cal-Mum, Matt had an incredible meet and scored in all four of his events. He won the long jump with a new personal best of 18 feet, the 100 with a new personal best time of 12.24 and the 400 with a personal best of 56.2. Matt also ran the 110 hurdles for the first time, placing second and will be competing in the pentathlon this Friday,” said Coach James. “Tommy has been a positive leader for the team and he is an exceptional player. Tommy always shows sportsmanship towards the opposing team’s players no matter what the score is, never getting discouraged,” said Coach Huffman. “Sarina has shown incredible sportsmanship and character by helping with our modified track program. Even outside of our normal practice time, Sarina has volunteered to attend the modified track meets to help.
