The first round of sectionals for Boys and Girls Basketball will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 25th. Both games will begin at 7:00 pm. Our Boys Basketball Team will be playing at Mount Morris High School in a game against Alfred Almond and our Girls Basketball Team will be playing at Andover Central School District. Lets all try to come out and support our Blue Devils! 🏀

Our Blue Devil Indoor Track and Field Team had an amazing night at RIT for sectionals on Friday, February 24th! Our boys team placed 5th overall out of 17 schools in Class D. Seniors Ryan Morgan and Robbie Hartigan were both sectional winners in individual events! Ryan Morgan won triple jump with a jump of 40’8” and placed second in long jump. Robbie Hartigan won the 300m dash with a time of 38.69 and placed fourth in the 600m. Senior Peyton Martin placed fourth in shot put and sixth in weight throw with a personal best. Freshman Calogero Scott placed fourth in weight throw with a personal best. Join us at RIT this Saturday, February 29th at 5:00 pm for State Qualifiers where Ryan Morgan and Robbie Hartigan will be competing! Go Blue!!
There will be an early dismissal today, Friday, February 14th. Dismissal will take place at 2:50 pm for all students, PreK-12. Students participating in an extracurricular activity will be going directly to the location of the activity upon dismissal. There will be no school for all students, PreK-12, Monday, February 17th through Friday, February 21st for Presidents Day Recess.
At recess today, sledding down a snowy hill gave us all quite a thrill!!

Our sixth grade students have been learning about Ancient Egypt. Each student prepared a special presentation that they were able to present to their fellow classmates and visitors. Did you know The Ancient Egyptians were scientists and mathematicians? They are credited with various discoveries and inventions such as medicine, ways to build structures, cosmetics, the calendar, the plow for farming, musical instruments, and even toothpaste. Great job students!!
A portion of the Coaches vs. Cancer game proceeds were donated to the family of Janet Swisher. Mrs. Swisher was a beloved English Teacher at Mount Morris Central School and asked that the donation be sent to the Livingston County Hospice Center.

Our Indoor Tack and Field Teams had a very successful evening at the LCAA/CCCS Championships on Saturday, February 8th. Our boys track team placed 3rd overall in Livingston County, scoring a total of 69 points. Highlights include Peyton Martin taking first in shot put and placing 5th in the weight throw. Ryan Morgan placed second in both the long and triple jump (with a personal best in long). Robbie Hartigan placed second in both the 300 and 600 meter. Calogero Scott placed second in the weight throw (with a personal best by over 2 feet). Emily Mike placed second in Racewalk. Jesse Bacon placed 3rd in long jump and 4th in 55m. Danny McCart placed 5th in 55m and 6th in long jump. Lance Warren placed 4th in long jump. Great job teams!

Our National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony will be held this evening, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Auditorium. Students being inducted include Robert Hartigan (Senior), Mary Rose Cautivo (Junior), Sarah Robles (Junior), and Ian Lin (Sophomore). Selection and continued membership in the NHS are based on scholarship, service, leadership and character.
The scholarship standard is based on a student’s minimum cumulative weighted grade point average of 85; The service standard is to complete thirty (30) hours of documented community service each school year of affiliation with the society; The leadership standard is based on the student’s ability to positively influence others to do their best; taking challenging academic courses; going beyond what is expected; and participating in extracurricular activities; The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and maintains a clean disciplinary record.
Congratulation to our Modified Cheer Team for placing second in the Upstate Spirit Championship Tournament on Saturday, February 8th! Great job!!

Varsity Boys and Girls basketball games scheduled for today, Friday, February 7, 2020 have been rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday February 8, 2020. Our Girls Varsity Team will start at 1:00 pm with our Boys Varsity Team to follow at 3:00 pm at Geneseo High School. We will see you there!

Jansel Martinez scored 21 points in last nights Varsity Boys Basketball Game, becoming the fourth player in MMCSD Boys Basketball program history to reach 1,000 career points, and the fifth player for both Boys and Girls programs. Congratulations Jansel!! The other four to reach the mark were Chuck Albanese, Bobbi Jo DeLaVergne, Chuck Fowler, and Devon Milford. Congratulations to the Varity Boys Team on their 58-54 victory over Keshequa last night! Great job!!
Join us for the MMPTSA’S Family Fun Night this Friday, February 7th from 6-8pm! There will be swimming, open gym, crafts, and a free pasta and fruit dinner! There will even be indoor snow at this event!

Join us tonight (2/5/20) at Mount Morris High School for basketball games against Keshequa! Our Boys JV Team will play at 5:30 pm and our Boys Varsity Team will play at 7:00 pm. Senior, Janesel Martinez (#1), who has been averaging 25 points a game this season, is just 21 points shy of becoming the fourth player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark for his basketball career!! The Mount Morris Pep band will not be playing this evening.
