The Mount Morris/Perry Softball Team will resume their game against Geneseo on Tuesday, May 7th at 4:30 p.m., in Geneseo. The teams faced off on Friday, May 3rd with a tied game of 12-12 before the game was called after 5 innings due to weather. Come out and show your support! #mmpride

The Mount Morris PTSA contributes to our school community by purchasing school supplies and books, organizing fundraisers, and so much more. There is a PTSA meeting this afternoon, May 6th in the Library at 3:30 pm.
It’s Book Fair time again! The fair will take place in our Library from Monday, May 6th until Tuesday, May 14th, during school hours. We will be open early on Friday, May 10th during Muffins with Mom. There is a new way to pay called E-Wallet; you create an account and you can put money on it via credit or debit card. That way your child does not have to carry money to buy books. The link is https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/parent-how-it-works.html. Please note that NYS tax will be charged for each item that is purchased. The library earns money for every item sold. The Mount Morris Central School District is celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week from May
5th – May 11th. Teachers play a pivotal role in student’s lives, inspiring a lifelong love of learning and
discovery and making a difference in their well-being and long-term success. Since 1984, the National PTA has designated one week in May as a special time to honor the men and women who lend their passion and skills to educating children. Congratulations to Robbie Hartigan who joined the Mount Morris Boys 100-Point Club! Throughout the season, an athlete can collect points by placing 1st-3rd at Dual meets and 1st-6th at Invitationals. At the track meet in Perry on 4/30/19, Robbie took 1st place in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 400m Hurdles to put his season total up to 105 points. Come out and support both the Boys' and Girls' Varsity Track Teams run this Friday, 5/5/2019, at the Cal-Mum Invitational starting at 4:30 pm.

Mount Morris Elementary invites mothers, step-mothers, and grandmothers to Muffins with Mom. This special event is an early Mother’s Day treat and sweet time spent with your child.
The menu will include muffins, juice, coffee, and tea.

MMCSD is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Students from Mr. Gardner’s History class will be assisting donors with the sign in process (photo ID required) and will be providing snacks and beverages post-donation. The American Red Cross estimates that every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood and a single donation can save three lives.
Reminder: Mount Morris Elementary would like to invite all incoming Pre-K and Kindergarten students to the District’s annual Kindergarten Orientation and Pajamas and Paperbacks event on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. During Pajamas and Paperbacks, parents will have the opportunity to turn in completed registration packets along with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and any other applicable documentation. Parents will also be able to sign their child up for a screening appointment.
All incoming Pre-K and Kindergarten students are invited to a pajama party to celebrate reading while parents learn about the Pre-K and Kindergarten programs. Children can wear their pajamas, eat a snack, listen to stories read by MMCSD teachers, and take home a free book.
This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce your child(ren) to school with a fun learning experience that everyone will enjoy!
The Mount Morris Central School District is delighted to announce that junior, Peyton Martin, has placed among the top three in the 2019 Digital Media Festival (DIGIES) with his electronic music composition “Lost at Sea." Awards and final placements will be given at the DIGIES Festival that will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Strong Museum of Play. Admission to the event is free. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Please note that the start time for the first game is 6:30 pm. This game will be alumni from graduating class of 2003 to 2018. The second game will follow with tip-off at approximately 8 pm and will be alumni from graduating class of 1985 to 2003. REMINDER: The Mount Morris Central School District 2019 Alumni Basketball Game is taking place tonight, April 26th. This annual game was created thanks to the large amount of interest shown by many former players. Alumni teams playing will be split up based on graduation years. A reception will follow the games at the Genesee River Restaurant and Reception Center located at 134 North Main Street, Mount Morris. Last year’s Alumni Basketball Game raised approximately $1,000 for the Boys’ Basketball Varsity Club. All money raised will benefit the MMCSD Boys’ Basketball Varsity Club. Last year funds raised helped pay for summer league, tournaments, and this year’s championship jackets that are being purchased for the Sectional Championship Team. The Mount Morris Central School District Parent Teacher Student Association (MMPTSA) has partnered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library since 2015. This partnership benefits the Mount Morris community by allowing all MMCSD residents to register their child(ren) under the age of five to receive a free book in the mail every month. To enroll in the Imagination Library,email the following information to freebooks@mtmorriscsd.org: Parent's Name, Child's Name, Child's Date of Birth, Mailing Address (must be within the Mount Morris Central School District), Phone Number & Email Address. You can also submit a completed enrollment form to the visitor entrance secretary. Enrollment forms are available in the visitor entrance. The vision behind the Imagination Library Program is to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families. The program gives each child a specially selected book each month, by mailing high-quality, age-appropriate books directly to their home. “It is imperative to read to children each day and that is why this program is so important for our Mount Morris families,” said Mrs. Dean, Mount Morris Elementary Principal. “By being a part of this program new books are delivered to families and they can begin reading to their children and teaching them to love reading!” The welcome book sent to registered children is “The Little Engine That Could” written by Watty Piper and illustrated by George and Doris Hauman. Other age-appropriate monthly books sent directly to registered children’s homes include “Daniel Finds a Poem,” “Lion Lessons,” “Max and the Tag-Along Moon,” “Sleep Train,” “Good Morning, Farm Friends,” and “Sassy: Bedtime for Baby.” The Imagination Library Program culminates with the graduation book, “Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come.”
