MMCSD eighth-grade students Scott Lonsberry, Liam Moses, Sydney O’Grady, Peyton Tidd, Trinity Tidd, and Chloe White participated in the New York State YMCA Youth and Government Conference in Albany. After three months of preparation, students from across the state attended this three-day experiential learning program, where they served as part of a model state government, debating bills they and their peers had written.
“This conference is a scaffold for leadership. Students travel to the capital and formally debate throughout the morning and into the early evening. This takes place in the State Assembly, State Senate, and committee chambers. It’s a very rewarding experience for those who attend,” said Mr. Gardner, who accompanied the students on the trip.

Congratulations to our November Junior High and Senior High Student of the Month PRIDE Award Winners!

🏒 History in the Making! 🥅
We are thrilled to celebrate Willy Manthey II, who has made history as the first Mount Morris student to play Varsity Hockey for the District! MMCSD is now a part of the Livingston Lakers Varsity Hockey Team. “We are very happy that our students will now be able to play hockey at the Varsity level,” said Athletic Director Swede. Willy, a sophomore in high school, has had a passion for hockey since he was just 3 years old. “I’ve been really looking forward to this opportunity and I’m excited to join this team and see what happens in the future,” said Willy. His dedication and hard work have led him to this incredible milestone, and we couldn’t be more proud! Don’t miss Willy and the Livingston Lakers in their first game of the season at SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday, 12/3 at 6 PM. Let’s cheer on Willy and the Lakers as they kick off an exciting season!

🎭 Reminder! Don’t miss the Fall Play "An Absolutely True Story (As Told by a Bunch of Lying Liars)" tonight and tomorrow at 7 PM in the MMCSD Auditorium. Admission is $5 per person, and students get in FREE! Come enjoy a night of comedy with our talented cast! 🌟

We are thrilled to celebrate MMCSD Senior, Eliza Lonsberry for representing our district at the Senior High Area All-State Music Festival in Newark last weekend! “All the kids worked so hard to put on a great concert, and they sounded fantastic. I am so proud of Ellie!” said Ms. Foti. Congratulations, Eliza!

Today, five student-athletes attended the Section V and RISE Leadership Conference at FLCC. “The event focused on topics such as leadership, conflict resolution, diversity, identity, and strategies for creating meaningful change in our communities and through sports. Our students were paired with peers from Wilson High School for most of the activities, providing a valuable opportunity to interact and learn from students from a different school,” said Coach James.

Congratulations to our first quarter Honor Roll and High Honor Roll students!

Our Elementary Scholastic Book Fair is happening now through Tuesday, 11/26! All students will have the opportunity to visit the fair during school hours. Families are also invited to attend during Grandparents and Special Persons Day on Tuesday, 11/26. Click the following link to preview books available at the fair and explore additional titles for online purchase: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/mountmorriselemschool1. For every item sold, MMCSD receives 25% of the proceeds, which will benefit our Student Council! We’ve also set up a Community eWallet for anyone who wishes to make a monetary donation, allowing more students to purchase a book from the fair. If you’d like to donate, click here: https://bit.ly/3CxRS5H. Please note: The donation page says "3rd grade" because a grade had to be selected during setup, but donated funds will be available for students in grades Pre-K through 6.

Earlier this school year, our 4th graders explored the beauty of Letchworth State Park and the Humphrey Nature Center! Students had the opportunity to learn about local wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation efforts while engaging in hands-on activities. From identifying animal tracks to understanding the importance of preserving our environment, it was a memorable and educational day for all!

Join us this Friday and/or Saturday at 7 PM for the Drama Club’s performance of "An Absolutely True Story (As Told by a Bunch of Lying Liars)", a hilarious short comedy by Ian McWethy. Admission is $5 per person, and students get in FREE! Come out and support our talented cast for a night of laughs and fun that you won’t want to miss out on. See you there!

Our elementary Student Council members have officially pledged to serve as our morning Safety Patrol! These dedicated students are stationed in hallways before classes begin to promote hallway pride and to be a helping hand for our younger students.
